Weddings in New York Testimonials

Lisa - Agony Aunt for Brides Abroad Magazine

We love to hear how the wedding day went for our bride and grooms, and to share these with you. Where we have wedding photos there is a link at the end of the testimonial, have a look and discover your favourite wedding abroad venue in New York!.

Hi Lisa
Thank you for the congratulations. Thank you so much for all the hard work that went into planning our wedding. The day was perfect, glorious weather and everything ran smoothly. Suzanna, Katerina and Trix were all amazing and helped the day go off without a hitch.
We recieved the photos today and they are amazing. You are more than welcome to use some on your website.
Thanks again,
The new Mr and Mrs Herdsman!

Hi Lisa,
I am sorry it's taken me a while to get this to you! But here is my testimonial for the website (feel free to cut out anything if you think it's too long!!!) Can't wait to see the pics up here either!

Firstly, thank you for providing the service that you do! Its really hard trying to find a wedding planner for abroad weddings & knowing who to trust, via the Internet, for such a big day in your life is quite daunting. From the start we knew we had made the right choice & never once were we worried about anything – although I am sure with all the pointless emails I have sent you, you wouldn't believe that!

We flew to NY 5th December ready for our wedding on the 8th. There were a few health problems with a few of our guests when we got there (2 bridesmaids, best man & myself included; note to self, don't get tonsillitis the day before you fly to the US or it will cost you $270 to see the doctor!!) & it absolutely tipped it down with rain the day before the wedding! However a trip to see Santa at Macy's & my friend proposing to his girlfriend at the Rockefeller tree brightened up the day.

We stayed at the Hotel Beacon on the Upper West Side & it was superb- that's not a word I use alot but it felt like the right one to describe the hotel. The location was brilliant, about half an hour walk down Broadway to get to Times Square or through Central Park to 5th Ave, but not slap bang in the centre of all the hustle & bustle. It was a 'normal' neighbourhood but with a Sephora store literally on the next block – I was in HEAVEN as it's my favourite shop! When we checked in, we explained we were here for our wedding & cheekily asked for an upgrade & they put us in a king room on the top (25th) floor – the view looked out onto the Hudson & we were higher than almost every building from the hotel to the river – it was amazing. I would definitely recommend the hotel to any of your future NY clients!

The night before the wedding Alan went down to stay at the Stanford Hotel on 32nd street where 1 of my bridesmaids & maid of honour (Lucy) were staying and Lucy came up to stay with me (they did a bed swap!) so we were able to keep that tradition of not seeing each other before the wedding – which was really important to us. I had planned to have a NY hen do at Serendipity 3 earlier in the week but due to my illness, we had to cancel. So my mum, Lucy & I had a mini hen do in my giant bed, drinking Martini Asti & playing Mr & Mrs that Lucy had planned for me!

I don't know if any of your other brides have woken up on their wedding day being serenaded right into their ear by their maid of honour singing a medley of wedding songs to them? No? Well that was my wake up!! It was fab! Not only was that a lovely way to wake up, but we had slept with the blinds open so we could fall asleep looking at the stars & awoke to a brilliant blue, cloudless sky with bright sunshine bursting through the window – the perfect day. After my mum, dad, sister (& also bridesmaid) & her boyfriend & their little boy came up to my room, we ordered breakfast from a little place called Gigi's who delivered to the room! Chocolate chip pancakes with syrup – what a wedding breakfast! From then on I have NO idea where the time went! Next thing I know I am down in my parents room with my sister & best friend getting me into my dress – we are 15 minutes late for the car & still have to lace me in! Next discovery is that my mum has taken my wedding shoes to the ceremony location so I had to go out in my Vans trainers – which, actually, was a good idea as it was much comfier walking in them!

We chose to get married in December as we love Christmas & it could not have been more fitting than setting off in the limo to the ceremony with 'It's the most wonderful time of the year' being played on the radio.

I forgot to mention our meeting with Catarina! It was great, she is wonderful & totally loves weddings & people so she is perfect for the job. I could go on & on & write a whole essay about getting the marriage licence (FYI brides, the people at City Hall are VERY miserable so don't go expecting a joyous occasion & them being really happy for you! We had to tell our guy that we didn't have social security numbers 3 times &that was after we had told him we were British & he had our passports in his hands!) then meeting Cat & her sorting out confetti for us the day before & just being so organised. But I will skip that & get back to the wedding day

Cat met us at the entrance to Central Park along with Wendy the photographer & we walked, probably about 5 minutes, through the park to Belvedere Castle. I was glad of my trainers as due to the rain the day before, there were a few puddles to hop over. So many people were walking past us & saying congratulations & taking pictures! There were school trips of children who were just amazed as they walked past us & I waved at them all & they waved back & it was so lovely. Wendy captured a picture of me waving at them, I look like I think I am royalty or something!!

The ceremony itself was officiated by Susannah who we had emailed in the months before the wedding to talk about the content. She was fantastic & had been talking to my guests for the hour they were waiting for me to show up! We had our own vows & our best man Martin, did a reading for us – we chose the lyrics of the great Elvis Presley song, Love me tender. The sun shone throughout the whole service & it was a crisp, chilly day but I don't remember feeling cold at all. The castle location is wonderful, I don't remember seeing much of it due to the excitement of getting married but the pictures speak volumes & my family & friends all said how beautiful it was.

We had hired an old fashioned trolley bus to transport our guests from Central Park to DUMBO in Brooklyn where our reception was held & we were not disappointed! NY Trolley Co's Dave had been great in our email correspondence & Cat had spoken to him the day before to organise where to meet us & all the fine details – which she didn't have to do, but did because she was brill. We supplied some beer & sparkling wine, cups & music for the guests & the idea was to have a mini tour on the way to Brooklyn, but because I was so late getting to the ceremony, they didn't get to have much of a tour but they all loved it anyway.

Reception was held in a place my friend Claire had researched on the internet for us a bar/restaurant called reBar. I had exchanged approximately 100 emails with their wonderful events planner, Veronica & she had been so patient & accommodating. We couldn't have been happier. The venue was perfect – we had the reGal room which had just opened & consisted of 2 rooms with its own private bathrooms. One room they had set up a long table for us & the other room, which had a bar in, we used to lay the food out & dance. There were about 20 of us in total & the rooms were exactly the right size. Our cake was made by Anne Heap & her team at Pink Cake Box, based in New Jersey. Again, we researched the net for a cake maker & this company were fantastic. Our cake was a 2 layer, jaunty angle, silver, pale blue & white (our colours) one with a 'frosty day' idea to it. The bottom layer was vanilla with rainbow sprinkles in & vanilla buttercream the top chocolate cake. There were snowflakes & stars on wires popping out the top & it was COVERED in glitter! Everyone was astounded with it & we could not have been happier.

Basically, everything was perfect on the day & having been a bride now & researching all the things you need for your wedding, I would have loved it if someone could have offered to chat to me about it, where to look, what to do, what to worry (or not worry) about, someone who had been there, done that – so I didn't have to bother Lisa as I felt I was constantly taking up her time! So I would like to offer my experiences & knowledge to any other NY brides to be who have any questions – please get in touch & ask away! It's always nice to make new friends &if I can be of help to anyone, I would be more than happy. Lisa, if anyone wants to email you to get my address that is fine or you can advise them to contact me on facebook.

So, at the end of the essay, I conclude by saying thank you again & thanks to Susannah, Wendy & Cat for making our wedding AWESOME!

Love Laura & Alan Goodman xxx

Married at Belvedere's Castle Central Park on 8th of December 2011.

Hi this is Lucy, the maid of honour mentioned above!

I just wanted to add my thanks to Destination weddings, and especially Cat (our New York correspondent!) Cat was sooo cheerful and super friendly to all of us guests. I had planned the music for Laura and Alan's wedding as a surprise, and she was so helpful making sure that it was played at the right time during the service and double checking that we had back up copies just incase. She really put my mind at ease after what had been a whirlwind week in New York.

Just going that extra mile for us all made the day super special not only for Laura and Alan but also for all of the people lucky enough to be there to witness the magic!

Hi Lisa,
Sorry it has been absolutely manic since we got back from New York, we got back on Saturday 5th November and then back to work on the Monday. Then we had our wedding evening reception on 19th November so this is really the first chance we have had time to take stock of our fabulous wedding day in New York.
Firstly, we would like to extend our warm thanks to Catarina for all her help and advice with our wedding on 27th October. We met her the day before and she has such a lovely personality that we felt completely at ease with her within minutes of meeting her. The weather in NY had been glorious with the sun splitting the trees all week and then the forecast took a turn for the worse with rain forecast for the day of our wedding but Catarina assured us that she had everything in hand and had taken the liberty of changing our standby venue to "Ladies Pavillion" as it would be better for our guests. Well, the forecast turned out to be right for once and the heavens opened but I knew that Catarina would have everything in hand, rearranging the venue, letting the guests and vendors know and making sure we got to the place on time. When we arrived at Central Park, Catarina was standing out with her big purple umbrella, waiting on one of our stray guests to arrive and send Trix over to our car to start taking photos. Catarina stood behind me holding my dress out of the puddles and helped to keep anyone from coming into the vicinty to interupt our ceremony. She even pushed our daughter, Addisyn in her buggy back to our transport. Susanna, gave the most heartwarming and emotional perfomance throughout our ceremony, she tailored it to include Addisyn and made a big fuss of my dad when we arrived at Ladies Pavillon. And what can I say about Trix, she is an absolute gem, mad as a box of frogs but made us both feel at ease and gave us an album to remember our wedding day with such fondness of the time we spend with her and Catarina.
Donna from Amazing Hair and Makeup, made me feel and look like a princess and she took the time to make our daughter, Addisyn feel like a little princess too! I really would recommend her to anyone who is going to get married in New York, she puts you completely at ease and has a great eye for detail.
As for the Bridal Consultant, I would have no hesitation to recommend your services to anyone who is looking to get married abroad and my only regret is that we could not get to meet you in the flesh, Lisa!
Many Thanks,
The Newly Wed Mr and Mrs Kinghan

Hi Lisa,
Just wanted to say a big 'Thank You' to you and your team for making our wedding day so special.
We were really impressed with the venue and with the services offered, such as the flowers provided and the restaurant recommended as they all really added to our day. Catarina was great, and really supported us through out the whole process and the service performed by Susannah was beautiful. We haven't received the photographs as yet, but Wendy was great and made us feel relaxed.

Hi lisa

I just wanted to let you know that Pete and I had an amazing wedding in New York, all thanks to you and your team. Everything went very smoothly and we were so lucky that the weather on our wedding day was absolutely glorious after some days of awful rain.
Catarina was great, we got on with her really well and it was lovely having her there on the wedding day. The ceremony performed by Susannah was just perfect and Wendy was brilliant - we can't wait to see the photos!
If you would like me to write a testimonial for your website, I'd be happy to do so as we really have been very impressed with your company.
Kind regards

Hi lisa
Just a quick e mail to let you know we are now back in the UK from our honeymoon. We wanted to express our sincere thanks for everything you have done for us to make our day so special, the support we had from Katrina when the airports were closed & we were having to look at changing dates was amazing!!
Everyone couldn't of been more accommodated, Moran's were wonderful, the limo company gave us a huge limo as they had heard about the nightmare we had had & Susannah did a lovely ceremony.
It really was a rollercoaster of emotions from the Friday night when we learned all flights had been cancelled & we were unsure if the wedding would be able to go ahead, luckily 24 guests were able to get out including our mums & when we got the okay to move everything by a day by we were over the moon.
Please pass on our love & thanks to Katerina, she was fantastic!!
We look forward to hearing from you about the video & photos.
Thanks again

Hi there Lisa.
Hope you're well and good - apologies for the delay in us getting back in-touch; we're both still suffering with a combination of jet lag and sheer tiredness due to our road trip across America which was amazing!
We received the CD of photographs the following day after our arrival back in the UK, they look absolutely stunning - it was hard to choose but we've managed to compile a wedding album which has been ordered and should be with us shortly. Can't wait to show all our friends and family at the wedding party next Friday evening.
We've personally emailed Wendy to thank her and Josh for their excellent work and putting both Mark and myself at ease on the day; they both worked with extreme professionalism and understood exactly what we wanted from our photographs. They both come highly recommended and although we didn't know we were getting Josh for the first hour, it was without a doubt a very pleasant surprise.
Lauren the make-up artist, who came recommended from a previous client of yours, arrived on the Sunday for the trial together with Dimitrios, the hair stylist - they both did a superb job on both the trial as well as the wedding day. Again we personally emailed Lauren to thank them both for their professionalism and making me feel at ease. They were superb!
The flowers were stunning and just how I had described them to you. Although they arrived a little late at the hotel, one quick phone call to Catarina soon put this right, with the flowers arriving very shortly after.
Catarina was very friendly and answered all questions and queries - she made us feel very confident that everything was going to go smoothly, and it did.
Susanna, the Minister was lovely, Mark commented how at ease she made him. She assured him there was nothing to worry about and really put his nerves at ease! Again we've sent her a personal email thanking her and she's going to forward us a copy of the ceremony words which were beautiful. Everyone commented how different and lovely the service was.
It was also a nice surprise to find the marriage licence waiting for us on our return back to the UK.
The venue itself, Ladies Pavilion, was hidden away in a beautiful setting. Although as you would expect we had a few on-lookers, Catarina did a great job of ensuring they didn't disturb the ceremony!
The weather was superb, right in the middle of a heat wave with the Monday seeing lots and lots of rain which helped cool Tuesday down a little; but it was still 30 plus degrees!
As you know we sourced our own musicians - and what a find they were! Mark and I couldn't decide if we wanted a guitarist or cellist, so we went for both and in-doing so found an amazing duo. They were fantastic, two really nice guys and they even rearranged two songs of our own choice for the ceremony. Absolutely beautiful!
With regards to the cake, we tried so hard to get hold of Magnolia Bakery and once we finally managed to do so their follow-up emails soon disappeared which was a shame. We gave up to be honest and sourced another supplier through Google. A big risk, but once again what a find! She was superb, very accommodating and all email queries answered in super quick time. She delivered and set the cake-up at the reception venue and it was ready waiting for us, complete with cake boxes for the guests and personalised labels. The cake itself was beautiful and unfortunately there was too much left over and as such we left it at our hotel reception for the staff to enjoy!
The Bateaux Cruise was the venue for the evening reception. It was stunning, all the guests thoroughly enjoyed it, with some lovely photographs of the Manhattan skyline having being captured. Although initially when booking the Bateaux back in the UK, our emails weren't being responded to, which was quite frustrating as we really wanted this venue for our reception. After an email to yourself asking for any contact leads you very quickly sorted this out for us and communication between us and the Bateaux Event Manager ensured the booking took place, so a big thank you once again!
We stayed at the Affinia Manhattan, it's situated directly opposite Madison Square Gardens and Penn Street Station - it's a fantastic hotel and would highly recommend it. A bottle of champagne was waiting for us in our room on our return from the reception at the Bateaux, a really nice touch.
So overall, we had a fantastic and enjoyable day and thank you so much for your help in making it possible, please send our thanks to Catarina as we don't have her email address.
Please don't hesitate to contact me should you require details of the suppliers we sourced, in-fact this was something we had noted during our planning of the wedding, the desire to have access to a known / approved suppliers list. Maybe this is something worth considering for the future?
All the best and thanks again Lisa to you and your team.
Kind regards, Heather and Mark.

Hi Lisa,
Daf and I returned home from our honeymoon in Las Vegas yesterday - jet lagged but full of happy memories of our big day!
So it was a lovely surprise to wake up this morning to find our photos had arrived! Many, many thanks to Trix - they are absolutely beautiful and really capture the day. My mum popped around earlier so we showed the pics to her... she was so impressed, she couldn't stop looking at them!
It was such a fabulous day - Catrina was lovely and after meeting her in Starbucks, we knew we were in safe hands and that everything would be perfect. In fact, I wasn't nervous at all on the day - just really excited and relaxed!! Suzanna gave a beautiful service and our vows were very touching.
Moran's was an excellent venue - it gave a classy yet relaxed atmosphere. The guests loved the food and everyone let their hair down on the dance floor - even those who don't usually dance!!
Thank you so much Lisa for making our day perfect. You've been brilliant throughout - always giving really sound and prompt advice. I didn't know where to start when it came to planning a wedding overseas and am notoriously awful at decision making, so we owe so much to you! Many of our guests even commented it was the best wedding they've ever been to!
We'll be more than happy to complete the provided form. Thanks again Lisa - the flowers, photos, location, make up and hair...everything - it was all amazing!!
With all our best wishes,

Hi Lisa,
I hope you are well?
We just wanted to send you a quick email to say thanks so much for the organisation of our wedding on June 1st 2011 at the Ladies Pavilion, Central Park.
You have been a star and I can safely say all the way through you have put us at ease and answered all of our (well mine!) many questions.
The day itself was perfect and so relaxed and we enjoyed every minute, only the heat was a little bit much to manage but even the lovely Catarina and Wendy (local New Yorkers!) struggled so we didn't feel so bad. They were both so helpful and we cant wait to see the pictures. The ceremony was also lovely.
We have only just got back but it was such an amazing trip it wont be long before we plan a return visit!
Thanks so much again and thanks to Jo from overseas experience as well whose service was also flawless.

Dear Lisa,
I just wanted to write to say a huge THANK YOU for organising the most amazing wedding for us.
When Leyton and I got engaged in February, we knew we wanted to do something different but we weren't sure what. After much searching and discussion we decided upon the Ladies Pavillion - Central Park - New York.
Our wedding last Tuesday was amazing, more that we could have ever wished for. We want to thank you for everything you did back in England - for all the emails we initially sent (I felt very high maintenance!!) - for all you reassuring replies and for organising everything for us.
The flowers were perfect, exactly as the photo I sent. Catarina was great as the co-ordinator in New York, she made everything run so smoothly, we didn't need to worry about a thing. She helped to keep the public as bay during the ceremony and helped to hold all our belongings during the photos. Wendy the photographer was great and we can't wait to get our photos sent through. Susanna made the ceremony so beautiful, the words she read touched everyone's hearts and she has kindly said that she will mail us a copy to keep. She was also very helpful before the wedding whilst sorting out our personal vows.
We can't thank you enough for helping us experience this most amazing wedding day. It's a day we'll never forget.
Thanks again, Charlie and Leyton xx

Hi Lisa,
Sorry for the delay in sending this, we are still on a high from New York.
I cannot say enough good things about your company from the second we booked you have all been so helpful and I have had no worries what so ever. You were always at the end of an email or phone when ever we had any questions or queries and we always received a rapid response.
The actual day was amazing and I would not change anything I was so relaxed as you and Catarina ( NYC wedding planner) had put us at ease and informed us of everything that we would need and what was happening on the actual day. By the time the day came everyone could not believe how relaxed we were!!!
The photographer Wendy was fantastic and looking at the preview of her pictures we cannot wait to receive all of them, all of our family and friends commented on how professional and friendly she was.
If anybody is planning a wedding in NYC I would recommend our reception venue which was BLT Steak (Julie Sheppard was our point of contact) and was super helpful we had a private dining room and the food, service and overall price was fantastic!
I used a guy called Jesse who came to my hotel to do our makeup he works at the MAC store on 5th Avenue and I just loved my makeup on the day, I know this was one thing that I found difficult to arrange so if this helps anybody out please post this.
My hair was done at Amouy Couture (Stephen Ramsey) it was fairly pricey but I wanted my hair to look perfect on the day and I was so pleased with the outcome.
Also I had some beautiful cup cakes made at the Magnolia Bakery which I can post some pictures of if this is any help to anyone.
Thank you so much for helping us plan our amazing day, please pass on my regards to Catarina I cannot wait to see all the photographs.
I will be recommending your services to anyone and everyone.
Kindest Regards

Thank you for making our wedding day the most amazing day of our lives.
We had a completely stress free day and everything ran to plan. Our wedding was better than anything we ever imagined and our guests have commented that it was the best wedding they had ever attended.

Hi Lisa,

Sorry for the late reply, got back from LA on Saturday and things have been a bit hectic since.
Had a fantastic time on honeymoon and New York, the wedding was perfect and way better than anything we ever expected. Katarina is a lovely lady and was incredibly helpful.
The pictures are great and we are in the process of filling in the feedback form, will also write a testimony when we get chance.
Once again, big thankyou for everything you all have done for us.
Many thanks Russ and Hayley x

Hi Lisa!
Unfortunately that's us home! The wedding was perfect and we had an amazing day followed by an amazing four week honeymoon. The best part of coming home was seeing our photos! They are great and along with the ones from our family we have some great memories of the day.
We had better go and get back to reality-four weeks of holiday laundry to get us started!

Hi Lisa,
Now that were settled back in 'post wedding & honeymoon' I've eventually managed to sit down and write this.
I cannot thank you and your team of contacts for making our day on 14th May so special.
Caterina was so lovely and immediately made me feel so relaxed, even when our officiant changed 24 hours before the wedding.
Rev Allan was great and we were delighted he came out of retirement to do our ceremony on Suzanna's behalf. Gorgeous Bride NY did my makeup and I could not fault them in any way, the service was superb. Gabriel and Tania were wonderful...I would recommend in a second!
Photos as you have seen are just amazing, Jennifer is one talented photographer and she was so focussed on getting us good photos...still to get our video which will arrive in the next few weeks hopefully.
Flowers were just what we wanted and they arrived right on time - an hour before we were due to leave for the ceremony.
Our wedding day was just like how I had imagined...Derrick just went along with it...as most men do, but all joking aside, THANK YOU!!! I am now flying the flag for Weddings Abroad...its the way to do it!!!!

Hi Lisa,
Just back from Honeymoon, had the best time, didn't want to come home! The wedding was fabulous, the weather (despite the prediction of storms!), the venue etc was all perfect. Catarina was really lovely and kept us informed and was on hand to answer any questions etc.

Hi Lisa,
I just wanted to say a quick thank you for all your help with our wedding, it was truly amazing and all the people you put us in touch with were excellent and of the highest quality. Hayley who co-ordinated the wedding was so nice and helpful, Jen the photographer was brilliant, she was so friendly and made us feel at ease and I know she has taken some amazing photos. The ceremony at All Souls was excellent too and I would really recommend this to others as a location. The officiate on the day picked some really nice words and the ceremony itself was a highlight to us. So many people commented on how nice the ceremony itself was.
A massive thank you from myself and Rachel, thanks for being so helpful and flexible too – I would recommend your service to anyone looking to get married in NYC.
Thanks

Hi Lisa,
Thanks for your email. We've just got back from an amazing honeymoon and now we're back in the real world and at work :( Nevermind.
The wedding day couldn't have been more perfect or seamless and everyone had the best day. We were so lucky with the weather and everything! My mum took it slow and she was fine on the day too, so all worries over. I haven't got all the photos yet but we'll send you some if you want when I have a chance to unpack and get into the swing of normality! Also everyone loved Suzanna's ceremony and said it was nice to see something different.
Thanks again for everything and speak soon!

First of all, our thanks to you and your team. We really don't believe anyone could have planned and organised our wedding day better. For the weeks and months before, we asked so many silly, daft questions but you were always there to help us and provide your words of wisdom. The wedding day was everything we wanted it to be, and more. We can't begin to describe what a perfect, relaxing day it was, without having to worry about flowers, limos, hair, makeup - it was all done for us!
The Day Before:
We met Caterina (wedding planner) on the Thursday morning before the wedding day. She was such a lovely woman, and very helpful when answering our final silly queries. She also double checked a few things before the day - flowers, photographer, etc.
On the Morning:
In the morning most of the ladies went to the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salon on 5th Avenue. We were staying at The London NYC which is on 54th between 6th & 7th so it was just a couple of block along the road. Everyone was incredibly helpful, very professional and very complimentary - I really felt like a celebrity. I had nails, hair and make up done there. They had never met me before, but were able to copy my hairstyle from photos I took at the trial back home. Nails were done by Zoya, hair by Jasmine, and makeup by Monique.
I'm glad I had all that to do, as it certainly kept the nerves at bay. I think Graham was at a bit of a loose end but found a bar eventually!
The Afternoon:
We went back to the hotel in time to have a light bite to eat and get dressed before the limo picked us up at 2.30pm. Graham got ready in our room while I got ready with my mum and sister.
The limo collected us promptly at 2.30pm, and the limo driver was very friendly (Ben). Nothing was too much for him.
We arrived at the Conservatory Garden where we met Caterina, Susanna (officiant) and Jen (photographer). Everyone made it such a fun, relaxing, enjoyable day. Caterina was very friendly, and is polite when asking people to make some room for the ceremony (even if a toddler insisted on doing a lap of the fountain before leaving - to show how professional Caterina is, I wasn't even aware of this until afterwards!).
After the ceremony, everyone was so complimentary of how lovely the words were and since coming back to the UK we have contacted Susanna and she has sent us the words she used. Because of the excitement its difficult to remember the words, even if you remember the sentiment, so it is nice to be able to look back at them again.
I would definitely say that the Conservatory Garden is a great venue in April - I can't speak for the other areas in the park, but certainly the Gardens are so well maintained they were in full bloom even in early April (I'm sure the heatwave also assisted with that!).
From the Conservatory Garden, we headed to Brooklyn (Dumbo) - this is an area which Jen loves so much and she got some amazing shots. We cannot speak highly enough of Jen - we got so many pictures in the end (more than expected) and they are all fantastic it's been hard to decide which ones to display. I would recommend going to this area - you get some great shots back towards Manhattan.
Into the Evening:
At 6.30pm, the limo dropped us off at the Time Warner Center where we headed to Per Se for our reception. We booked the private East Room which seats up to 10 people. Now, it's not cheap however if you are looking for the meal of a lifetime, and service which you will never get anywhere else, then this is the place to be. You are treated as royalty and while we were officially eating a 9 course taster menu, we worked out that with all the extras it was more like 15! Needless to say my dress felt a little restrictive after a while.
But to give an idea of the service, we were even given the labels from the bottles of wine we had.
I wish I could go back and do it all again! I can't stop thinking about the day, or looking at the amazing pictures. If anyone else is thinking of a wedding abroad, please look no further than The Bridal Consultant.
I wasn't there when the flowers arrived (busy being pampered!), but I believe they arrived at the hotel on time. They were simply stunning and exactly as we had described them. My bouquet was particularly beautiful, and went really well with my dress (the dress wasn't white or ivory, so I couldn't have got away with a pale colour). It was nice to have the thistles through it which went with the buttonholes. We also ended up with a spare buttonhole which Graham's sister wore!
Lots of love,
Laura and Graham Miller xxx

Hi Lisa
Sorry it has taken us so long to get in touch following the wedding - we had our reception on Saturday so had quite a bit to organise, then straight back to work on Monday morning!
Anyway, we just wanted to say what a fabulous time we had in New York and the wedding was just out of this world. Susanna was lovely, and she's already sent us the words from the ceremony. And as for Jen, we all can't speak highly enough of her. Her love of Dumbo and her knowledge of the area means we should have outstanding photos - we really don't think anyone else could have captured the day as well as her.
And finaly Caterina - she was so helpful on the day (and the day before) and was very good and polite when asking people to move for the ceremony!
We're really looking forward to seeing the pictures - hopefully you get them from Jen soon.
Love,
Laura & Graham Miller

Hi Lisa,
Thank you for your congratulations.
The Wedding was wonderful. We had excellent weather and everything ran smoothly. All the flowers were blooming in the conservatory garden and Susanna had some lovely words for us both.
Simon still got all his photographs done despite the close attention of the park volunteers! They turned out great.
Everybody loved both the Greyline bus and Morans. All the choices made, the venue, transport and reception worked perfectly.
We couldn't have done it without you and we thank you for all your hard work. We'll recommend your services to any of our friends marrying abroad.
All the best for the future,
Steph and Paul Connolly

Hi Lisa,
Thank you for your email... indeed it was an absolutely smashing day for us!!!
The photographer was amazing, she'd made contact before we went over by email and we'd sorted what sort of things we wanted and on the day she was brilliant... had us all over the park which if the pictures our friends took are anything to go by, should be fabulous. Hayley, bless her was chief carrier, as I'd taken such a huge heavy coat and as the temperature rose it had to come off and so she ended up following us around carrying cameras, video, coats, hats bags etc etc...bless her, she was an absolute star.
We did have a little video camera with us but forgot about it completely and I wish we'd have recorded the service because it was so beautiful, however the officiate, Sarah, has sent us an email of the wording which is wonderful.
I could go on and on about it because it was such a super day... we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, the setting, weather and the crew were all fabulous and we couldn't have wished for better. Our many many thanks go to them.
All of this wouldn't have gone so smoothly and so calmly if you all hadn't been so thorough and helpful to us... I don't know where we would have had to begin and am so very grateful that you organised everything for us so beautifully.
Lisa, Thank you again for all of your hard work, it was all perfect. We've already recommended you to people so hopefully they'll be in touch too.
Take care and thanks again
