the bridal consultant was formed in 2003 by lisa burton, the idea developed after lisa planned her own wedding while holding down a very demanding job, she realised just like many that there isn't enough time in the day to take on another full time job, which is really what planning a wedding could be compared to. however rather than planning weddings in the uk, lisa wanted to incorporate her love for travelling with the new business and decided to work in the expanding market of weddings abroad.

working on cruise ships opened her eyes to the conveyorbelt type of wedding, and lisa quickly realized that couples choosing to get married abroad were not receiving the type of service they deserved. 'their weddings should be just as unique and special as those couples getting married here in the uk, and this is the principle on which the bridal consultant was born.'
